With Carter being sick, we haven’t been able to do much the last few days. He still has a fever, but his cough is almost gone. So in the meantime we have been practicing CC’s sounds and letters. She can recite the whole alphabet, recognize all the letters, and knows most of her sounds. Just recently she has started to put letter together. So far, she can spell MOM, DAD, CC, and PARK. As soon as I remember to buy tape, we are going to place name cards on common things she sees, hoping she will learn a few more.

As for Carter, he has started to pick up a few words. He says MAMA, DADA, HI, KISS, NIGHT NIGHT, and GOT IT (whenever he‘s playing with a ball.) He’s off to a good start,. I’m hoping he’s as vocal as CC was, makes thinks sooo much easier!! I'm still a little shocked he hasn't picked up a word for CC, thought that would have been one of his first words.
Have you seen Leap Frog's The Letter Factory DVD? It's awesome and William learned and knew all his sounds by 20 months. I highly recommend it - I got mine as Costco but almost all places (Target, Amazon, Barnes and Noble) have it.
ReplyDelete^ We have the same Leap Frog video. =)
ReplyDeleteCC's so smart!
i love the leap factory!! CC has the letter factory, and i want to get her the word factory. That's what helped her learn all her sounds.
