CC's first football game

CC's first football game was today. CC had so much fun! She knew all the cheers and loved every minute of the game. The Texans lost, but CC had the time of her life.

He was so excited to pick out a backpack, lunchbox, and nap mat. I am so proud of you handsome, and I hope you have an excited year!

Labor Day at Canyon Lake

We were so lucky to be asked by the O'Brien's to join them on their boat. We spent Labor Day swimming, toobing, eating, and hanging out with good friends. It was a beautiful day!

Back to School

Well it's back to school, so it's the perfect time to get back to blogging.

Camden started her first day of first grade. She was so excited! We were in California for the teacher meet and greet, so she was really excited to see what her room looked like. She walked in and found her desk right away, hung up her backpack, and was ready to start the day. No tears, and no anxiety! She's never been much of a crier, when it comes to school, but she does get nervous. But not today! She said her goodbyes and was ready. So proud of her.

Walking to class with her boot and backpack on.

California Trip

Before the kids started school we wanted to make a quick trip to California. We had so much fun, and so many pictures! Too many to upload. So I'm uploading the only family picture we took on the trip.

Carter and Skeleton

I love Summer! The kids get to stay up late, and they fall asleep easy. Carter is snuggling Skeleton after a long day of swimming, and hanging out with friends.

Mrs. J Stout

CC was so blessed to have such an amazing kindergarten teacher, Mrs. J Stout. CC is truly going to miss her. She's has told me multiple times that she doesn't want to be a first grader, because she hasn't had enough time with Mrs. J Stout.

My kindergarten graduate

We are so proud of Camden. She did an amazing job in kindergarten. She was the only child who received a green on her behavior chart every single day. She has grown so much since the start of kindergarten. She is now reading in level 6, and still loves to read. She is really interested in time and math. She is always asking "how many minutes until..." and then it is always followed by "how many seconds is that then?" She is so fortunate to have a variety of specials: art, music and PE. She loves music and art, and just recently started liking PE. Which is a big change from preschool, when it was her least favorite part of everyday. She has even started to instruct exercise classes in our living room, which Carter loves! Her biggest struggle this year has been her sensitivity to new things, and her writing skills. Both of which she has improved greatly. At the beginning of the year she was so terrified of fire drills, she was guaranteed to be in tears. She even had to have a specials teacher come and hold her hand and walk her to the field. This is no longer happening. She bravely told me they had a fire drill the last day of school, and she wasn't afraid. Camden is a smart, sensitive, energetic, imaginative, artistic, caring girl! And we are so proud of our soon to be first grader xoxo

End of soccer

Soccer season has come to an end, and CC is very glad! This year CC really enjoyed playing goalie and sweeper. Here's a picture of CC with her very first sports trophy. She is proudly displaying it in her room on her bookshelf.

It's finally pool time!

I love everything about this picture. Summer is my favorite season! Well it's tied with Autumn, and since we don't have on of those in Texas, it's my favorite Texas season.

Strep times 3

Yup that's right! We all have strep. The kids had been feeling run down all weekend and then we all woke up with stomach aches and sore throats! Good thing we found a really good urgent care that always gets us in. Here's the kids playing Eye Spy. Carter weighed in at 37 pounds and 38.5 inches, while CC weighed 44 pounds and 45 inches.

Candyland

CC and Carter are finally at the age they can play a boardgame... together! It only last about 10 minutes, and someone always ends up screaming, but it's a work in progress haha.

The medal ceremony for Soccer Tots

Sports Goggles it is!

So not even ten minutes after the award ceremony Carter K and Carter C were running in the hall and ran into each other. Carter's glasses somehow managed to bend and scrap his face, barely missing his eyeball by not even an inch! Poor little guy. I'm not sure which was worse the scrape or the bandaid. Carter hates bandaids! Actually he hates anything that is stuck to his body or skin, including stickers! He thinks it hurts and he starts screaming. It's a good thing we splurged and got some sports goggles too. This little kicker is too rough for regular glasses.

Guadalupe State Park

Mark and I have already decide this is going to be our spot this Summer! It's perfect for the little kids. The water is very low and mild, and it's easy to access from the parking lot. I've always been more of a pool girl, but this river has found a special place in my heart.

Field Day

CC's school had the most fun field day planned! Too bad it poured and had dark clouds all day. They had to move all the activities inside because of the lightning, but the kids still had fun!

They were suppose to be playing basketball, but the rain brought in a ton of rollie pollies, much more fun!!

New eyeball update

Well there are no pictures from today. One, my eyeballs hurt and are a gross red color I had no idea eyes could get. And two, I've been trying to sleep this awful, dry, sore, scratchy feeling away. I had my one day check up and the doctor said everything looks great. I can already see 20/20 in both eyes, and 20/15 in both together! What an amazing feeling!

My new eyeballs

Yup, I finally did it! I got lasik! And now my eye looks like this...The surgery was freaky. I mean really freaky like alien abduction freaky. But I did it. I survived and let's hope my eye doesn't stay like this forever!

Specht Store with the Gagles

This was our first time to Specht Store and the kids loved it! Outdoors, live music, and cows! Can't wait to go back!

Mother's Day 2011

We finally made it to Guadalupe River State Park, and I am so glad we did. The River is only 15 minutes away and perfect for the kids! We bought a season pass so we will definitely be back!
