Haircut??

Carter's hair has gotten so long in the front and back I think it's time for a haircut. He has very thin baby hair but it has gotten so long, it's starting to look bad. I'm debating on whether he needs a haircut or if he can go a little bit longer...

Flashback Friday

Really is it friday already?? Where has the week gone?? When I posted the pictures of CC and Bella from Uncle Brad's game last week, it reminded me of this trip to the beach. Camden is just about 1 (on left), and Bella (on right) is about 18 months.

Bathtime

Bathtime is so much fun at our house. Both kids love the water!! I mean LOVE the water. Carter can hear the water start from anywhere in the house, and will crawl to the bath as fast as his little hand let him. Camden has been begging for a "nohawk," but her hair is too long to stand up. So we attempted it anyways.... Carter with his "nohawk" and CC with as close as it gets :)

Memorial Weekend

Memorial Day/Weekend, for me, will always be remembered as the weekend the pool opens. If we hadn't already snuck in the few days before, it is notoriously known as the weekend the developers finally unlock the pad lock and our magnetic keys open the big iron gates. With the huge mushroom sprinkler a constant reminder every time you drive by, of how much fun you could be having, it is a much talked about weekend. With all this talk about moving we are missing the Piper Pool, and all our neighbors that made it so memorable. Here are some pictures of CC in 2006, the first Memorial Weekend the pool had its grand opening.

Thanks to all the troops who have fought and are fighting to keep our nation such an amazing place to live. Especially all the friends, and family of friends at the Fort Leavenworth Base.

Flashback Friday

I have been trying to put Carter in My Gym, but the schedule isnt working out with CC's preschool. Camden started My Gym just about the same time, 10 months, and had so much fun. So for Flashback Friday, I dug up some pictures from CC's trip to My Gym. These are from June 2006. (Camden is 10 months)

May Crowning

Camden had her very last performance as a pre-k 3 year old. It was a beautiful ceremony celebrating Mary. The preschoolers and kindergartners, dressed in their Sunday best, and presented Mary with flowers, prayers and songs. It really was beautiful, and all the kids enjoyed themselves. However, I don't think that Camden's American Idol career started today. She was so hesitant and quiet... not common characteristics we see from CC. But anyways, it was still fun to see her and her school friends dressed up and having fun.

Uncle Brad's baseball game

While we were in Orange County we went to watch Uncle Brad play baseball. We had such a great time. We got to meet up with Mark's friend, Adriane, and her two kids Lucky and Bella. Camden had such a great time playing with Bella, and Bella LOVED to hold Carter. Then we went to Grammys and Papas for pizza. So much fun.

Family Beach Day

I've been dying to go to the beach this past couple of weeks. It's been in the 90s in Temecula, and thought what a great idea on Mark's three day weekend. NOPE. It was super windy. The kids still had a great time, but we only stayed about an hour. Camden had fun building sand castles, princess castles I'm sure. And Carter did what all ten month olds do. Ate sand.
HAHA.. you can tell how windy it is my CC's Baywatch look.... You can't really complain where you're at the beach with your 3 favorite people!!

CC's first big girl haircut

I have been trying really hard to convince CC to cut her hair. Its been so hot lately, and she gets hot so easily.... but no success. I convinced her to get a trim before her May Crowning, and I thought what a special treat to go to a big girl salon. She wasn't as excited when we got there as I thought she'd be. For a little girl who loves to play with brushes, gel, and spray she was pretty mellow. She got a wash, cut an inch and a half, cleaned up her layers, and a blow dry. Next time its back to Super Cuts.

The cut... a little hesitant

Sea World

We had the most amazing time at Sea World yesterday. We met mommy's long time friend Mary, her mom Debbie, and her son Nicholas who is only 4 weeks older than Carter. The weather was perfect, a little windy, but not as hot as the first time we went. AND... i remembered my camera. I'm pretty sure touching the starfish was both CC and Carter's favorite part.
that face alone sums up how much fun they were having...

Camden has become a little daredevil, so when I went across the tide pool to take a picture she stood up on the rocks and fell in. YES, she is that kid that her daddy let her get to close and she fell in the tide pool. You should have heard the gasps from the other mommys... oh well. Right after Mark pulled her out.

Mary and I tried endlessly to get a picture of the boys, together, and looking at the camera. We decided it was an impossible task. When I got home this picture was cracking me up of Carter and Nick.
And of course what would the trip be without a visit to Shamu.

Ronald Reagan park

This the first park of our park challenge. Camden loved this park. It's cool it has two parks in one, and one of the parks in under a huge canopy. I think this will be our park of choice during the summer.

Temecula +1

In all honestly I think Temecula has more parks than the entire state of Kansas. I'm not kidding every corner has a park.. duck park, skate park, veterans park, temeku park, Ronald Reagan park, meadows park, chardonney hills park... do i need to go on?? I'm starting a new challenge, a park challenge. CC, Carter and I are going to try a new park every week, with pictures included. We are going to be Temecula's park experts, all while getting a great tan!! Stay tuned... Let us know if you'd like to join us!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!! I am so thankful for my two amazing children, and how lucky I am to be their Mommy. I can't believe that this is mine and Camden's fourth Mother's Day together. Where has the time gone?? Here are a few pictures from our past Mother's Day.

2006
We flew to CA for a surprise trip, and of course went to the beach.

2007
We went to Danny's for breakfast before Daddy had to go to work.

2008
We were waiting for Carter, and then went to the Royals Game on Daddy's next day off.

2009
Went to the ER, and then the pool. I think we are going to Sea World on Thursday to celebrate.

Finally, maybe now some relief.

You can kind of see the top two teeth peeking through.... These two darn teeth have been giving me more trouble than Carter's labor!! Hopefully he can now get some relief, and I can get some sleep. You can also see a little bruise on his chin, where he slipped and hit his chin on the tub. I am ALREADY predicting he knocks out his front teeth, since this is the third time he's slipped and knocked his chin or front teeth. Camden already knows to get a washcloth and an ice pack.. what a good big sis.

Mother's Day Tea

Today CC's preschool put together a mother's day tea. It was really cute. They decorated the cafeteria, made muffins, and sang a song. It was the first time I got to see her with her MWF class, and she is much more at home with this class than before. I think finally she is starting to adjust to St. Jeanne's.

New things

With Carter being sick, we haven’t been able to do much the last few days. He still has a fever, but his cough is almost gone. So in the meantime we have been practicing CC’s sounds and letters. She can recite the whole alphabet, recognize all the letters, and knows most of her sounds. Just recently she has started to put letter together. So far, she can spell MOM, DAD, CC, and PARK. As soon as I remember to buy tape, we are going to place name cards on common things she sees, hoping she will learn a few more.
As for Carter, he has started to pick up a few words. He says MAMA, DADA, HI, KISS, NIGHT NIGHT, and GOT IT (whenever he‘s playing with a ball.) He’s off to a good start,. I’m hoping he’s as vocal as CC was, makes thinks sooo much easier!! I'm still a little shocked he hasn't picked up a word for CC, thought that would have been one of his first words.

Busy Busy

The last 36 hours have been crazy busy. Camden’s dance class had their parent’s preview class last night. Mark was off, so I got to take some cute pictures/videos. Camden cracks me up!! She is starting to pick up a few dance moves, but is still a little lost on others. Below is a video of their recital dance so far. You have to watch it all the way through.. Camden is hilarious when it comes to the booty shakes.

When we woke up today we knew it was Mark’s last day off for the week, and we wanted to enjoy every minute. So we made breakfast, and then headed to the pool. This is the first time Carter was in the big pool, and he loved it!! He preferred the spa because the water was warmer, but still got some quality swim time in with Daddy.

After that we were so lucky that Lala and Papa decided to come visit. We made some tacos, and then ditched the kids for some alone time. We went to Massage Envy, for their introductory rate and ended up leaving with a membership. Go figure. Mark experienced his first deep tissue massage, and I could hear him squirming the whole time. My massage was fabulous, and left relaxed and refreshed!! We topped it off with a few drinks at Texas Lil’s, and called it a night.

Us getting ready for the massages. Mark says this is his relaxing face!

We are so thankful for Lala and Papa, who drive all this way so Mark and I can get some adult time!! Thanks again, we love you.
