Happy Half Birthday CC

Happy Half Birthday Princess!!I still can't believe she is now closer to 5 than 4!! She is now 4 1/2 and proudly tells anyone who looks her way. And now things have changed so much. She now doesn't cry when water hits her face in the bath, she doesn't mind when Carter climbs on her, she doesn't have to be told twice to put her clothes in the hamper, and when she bumps her back on the faucet in the tub she doesn't cry, all because she is now 4 1/2!!

We had so much fun celebrating her half birthday. It's a new thing this year, celebrating half birthdays. And why not? Who doesn't love birthday cake? Not many rules to the half birthday celebration... no presents, no parties, nothing extreme... just cake. And the birthday song strategically placing half in front of the birthday part. And the excuse to justify doing odd and uncommon things, just because it's your half birthday. Nothing too big, but the kids loved it!

This year I picked up CC from school. No, actually picked her up. I got out of the car and didn't drive through to pick her up like I do every day. She thought it was great. She showed me off to all her friends, waving goodbye to everyone like she was in a pageant. Then we hit up the book fair. Which by the way, has the worst selection, and the most inflated prices. Total ripe off. But hey it's for the kids. And $39.25 later we walked away with this.

Only the cutest book EVER.....

And these two because I thought they were adorable, and they had a one on them. (the one in the corner means that CC can read them almost by herself.) Really, I had never seen these and LOVED them.

And then we stumbled upon Mittens... Isn't she cute? CC loves Kitties, and I Can Read books, so we had to get it. And once again, it had a one on it.

And then just as we were about to check out CC squeals. Yes, I did say squeals. All because she had to have this book. The boy who is assumably from Paris, France turns out to be from Paris, Texas. And as CC says, "he's from Texas, I'm from Texas, and Mommy look it has a one on it."

So we went a little overboard at the Book Fair, but it was her half birthday. After the book fair, we immediately headed to Target to get a cake. CC wanted the Sesame Street cupcakes, the ones that had 36 cupcakes, which she had to have because they had Abby. But we settled for a more reasonably, smaller, less cake to haunt me in the refrigerator, that looks like an Easter bonnet. So cute. And then we headed home for some dinner, and cake. Mark even got home for the half birthday celebration!!
