CC says:

I was checking on CC in bed, and she had fallen asleep with her brown mary jane shoes on. I went in her room to take them off and cover her with her blankies, and she woke up. I asked her why she had her shoes on and she says:

"These are my most favorite shoes in the world. When I wake up in the morning I always forget about them. So I figured if I wear them to bed I won't forget to wear them tomorrow. Sounds like a good idea huh?"

Potty training

So I heard potty training is suppose to be harder for boys than girls? Not in this case. Carter is a potty training champ. With all our trips planned this summer, I had no intentions of potty training Carter until after his second birthday. But, he has a plan of his own. He's pretty comfortable wearing big boy underwear at home, and keeping them dry. So we do big boy underwear while we're at home and diapers when we're on the road. But, lately he's been keeping his diaper dry overnight, and while we run errands. The last few days he's been telling me he has to pee while we are out, and has kept his diaper dry the whole day. Tonight he got out of the bath tub to go Twinkle Twinkle!! Awesome, right? But even better he woke up from bed and told me he had to go PooPoo. He ran to the bathroom and actually pooped in the Potty!! This is the first time he has tried to poop in the potty!! I think this little boy is ready for potty training!!

Sea World

Well, I did it. And I am pretty darn proud of myself. I took both kids, by myself, to Sea World, on the weekend. And survived. Ya pretty much deserved an award, or at least a beer. The weather was amazing today. High 80s, sunny and little to no wind. We were dying to do something outside, and we're hoping and praying it got hot enough to go to Sea World. I LOVE Sea World San Antonio. Not only does it have all the attractions of Sea World San Diego, it has a water park. And in summer, it's going to be our home away from home. We hit up the little gator area of Sea World, and the kids loved it! Well CC loved, it and Carter went along for the ride.

Carter and CC Sea World 2010

I love mushroom fountains. They will forever remind me of Kansas. We had this same water fountain, on a smaller scale, and it was my favorite part of our pool. When I saw this I got a little teary eyed... well not really. But if I were a crier, I might have shed some over this.

CC loving the mushroom fountain
And then there was Carter, my big strong boy. The same boy who loves to hit and kick his sister. The same boy that will hit anything with a baseball bat, including your leg, and think it's hilarious. The same boy who was terrified of the water. Didn't want to go near it....
That was the closest he got to the water. He was a little sad that CC was so big playing in the water. AND then he found stairs....

Ya, he loves stairs. Had anyone told me that CC, Princess CC, would be the courageous one of the kids I would have laughed out loud. I'm sure it won't last, but until then I am loving my little dare devil. She was jumping off water slides, sliding down backwards, splashing her face (yes, her face!!), and loving every minute of it. This is a huge step. Last summer she would have cried for an hour if you even thought about splashing her face with water. But now, she's all grown up! So mature! So not dramatic.... OH WAIT... she got a blister. And refused to walk. On the day that I'm by myself. AND the only day I have gone to an amusement park and forgot the double stroller. Note to self: never and I mean never, go to an amusement park without a double stroller. We live 5 minutes away. What was I thinking?

Sure they look cute here. But there was a ton of he's touching me, he's pulling my hair, his booty is leaving booty prints on my leg and I'm dying!! Yes, her exact words. Thank goodness. I, for a split second, thought we had out grown the drama queen stage. Good to know it's still there.

P.S. It makes me ridiculously sad that Carter is almost as big as CC here. What happened to my baby?

Flash Floods

Yesterday SA had flash flood warnings all day. They said we received 4 inches of rain on friday and are expected to get more this weekend. Medina County, TX received 10 inches of rain, accumulating to 6 feet in some spots. I can believe it!! These pictures were taken right as the storm started.

The beautiful river we have running through our side yard

And the lake we have in our front yard. The visibility was next to nothing. You could see three houses down the street. Crazy!!

Cub's Catcher

CC got to play catcher today and she loved it! She's usually plays left field, center field or third base. She is use to catching and throwing the ball once or twice a game, and today she got to catch the ball after every play. There was even two plays at home. She loved all the action, but was a little overwhelmed with all the directions. I think she did great!! She's never paid so much attention to the game.

Newport Beach and 38th street park

Monday we went to the 38th street park at Newport Beach. Unfortunately the weather wasn't that great. Cold and cloud. So the kids didn't get to play in the water but they still had fun.

Angels v. Yankees

Mark and I had been planning on going to an Angel's game with a few friends. It turned out to be the perfect day for a game, 80s and sunny!! I think I got my Mother's Day gift early, because Mark was not wearing his Dodger's jersey. If you know Mark, you know he's a huge Dodger fan and this was a huge! It was a great game and a beautiful day with friends.

Carson's Baptism

Mark and I were truly blessed when Melissa and Wes asked us to be Carson's Godparents. We flew to California to celebrate Carson's Christening, and his first birthday. The ceremony was beautiful, and we were so thankful that we were a part of this day.

Uncle Brad's baseball game

We were so lucky that one of Uncle Brad's high school baseball games were during our trip to CA. The kids had a great time running around playing with their cousins.

Tri-City Park

Friday Morning

The first thing we did when we got to CA was go to tri-city park. We met up with Mary and her boys, Nicholas and Carson. I've known Mary since we were in kindergarten, and I love that our kids are so close in age. Every time we go to CA, we try to meet up with them. Carter and Nicholas are three weeks apart, and I love to watch them grow. They were dying to play catch with each other, but once we got there, they were more into the slides:)
