Opening Day 2010

Today was CC very first opening day for T-ball. I know right? How is it that our little princess is old enough for T-ball? I have no idea. She was a little hesitant about baseball. She much more the ballet loving, craft doing, book reading, dress wearing kind of princess. But I thought it's good for her to get out and meet some kids. The game went well. She had two really good powerful hits. She played outfield and third base. She is still trying to figure out the fundamentals of baseball, like how to run to second base, but it will all come in time. She got thrown out on her first hit, and made it safely to first the second time. The second time around she made it all the way to third before the batting order was up. She played outfield and a little bit of third. All in all she had fun. She said it was "ok" and that she would try again next week. It's a start!

Game Over. CC is the one with the pink glove. Notice how she isn't the shortest player? We have recently notice that CC is a little on the tall side for her age/gender. The team has 4,5, and 6 year olds. She is definitely on the younger side, but you would have never noticed.

Trike-a-thon and Kite Day

CC participate in her first St. Jude Trike-a-thon. She has so much fun!! They didn't keep track of how many laps, but she petaled her little trike around the gym for 30 minutes. It was pretty cute.

After the trike-a-thon, it was kite day. The kids had designed and decorated their kites, and couldn't wait to make them fly.

The kites didn't get too far off the ground, but the kids didn't care. They loved flying their kite, and enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

CC's Easter Performance

CC had her Easter Performance today and she did great. At dinner she prayed to God for strength and help to do a good job in her performance. It worked! She did a great job, and was so happy that Mommy, Daddy and Carter were there to see.

Really kid? Just sit already

So I have NO IDEA what I am going to do with this kids while I am trying to watch CC practice baseball... He doesn't sit still. The practice was an hour and Mark and I were beat from chasing him around. He tries to sneak on the field and steal the balls. He doesn't get nor does he accept, that it's CC's turn to practice. And since baseball is his most absolute favorite thing in the whole wide world, I need to come up with something to occupy him.

So far this is all we can come up with....

CC's first little league team

CC had her very first baseball practice on Monday. I can't believe that she is finally big enough for T-Ball. This year she is on the Cubs, and is just thankful it's not the Dodgers:) She is on a team with 4,5 and 6 year olds. There are 12 kids, 4 of which are girls. So far she is enjoying baseball, but gets a little bored at times. She is one of the youngest players on the team, but she's not letting that bother her. Actually, she has no idea.

So far we think she is a left handed batter, the only one on her team. We tested out hitting both ways, left and right. We think she's a left handed hit. She couldn't figure out how to grip the back to hit right, so we're sticking with left. But, she is throwing right handed.

This is the only time during drills she actually caught the ball in her glove, and I missed it.

Big Boy Bed... already?

Carter isn't even 20 months, and he has figured out how to climb out of his crib. Which we know is super dangerous. So we had to switch his crib to a day bed. I had every intention of keeping him in his crib until he was well past two. But, nope. He had other plans.

It has been two nights and so far so good. He got out twice the first night, but after that not even a fuss. I'm hoping this isn't a fluke, and he adjusts well.
