SA Children's Museum

We took the kids downtown to the Children's Museum. My camera was about to die the whole time so I only got a few shots. I hate that! One bad thing about digital camera, you can't just run and buy new batteries. But anyways, the kids had fun and that's all that mattered.

We found this HEB grocery store on our way out. FYI there is a huge HEB grocery store in the bottom of the museum. There are no signs, and you could literally spend all day in there.

The museum was fun! The kids had a great time, and there is lots to do. It gets pretty packed on the weekends, but it was still fun. I'm sure we will be going back.

"Just Pray"

Ok I love Lipton's Green Tea, but for whatever reason I CANNOT open the bottles. It's been so bad, I actually put them back and hope Mark gets it next time. Sorry honey! So today I got a bottle that would just not open. I literally tried for 5 minutes, and gave up. After getting situated on the couch, with my blanket snuggling CC, there was no way I was getting up to get another one.

So CC says,"Mommy let me try."

And I of course let her try, but nothing. So she simply gives it back and says, "Mommy why don't you just pray? God will help you if you ask."

So we pray together, "God, please give my mommy the strength to open the bottle so she can quench her thirst. AMEN" Yes, she said quench.

So after her beautiful prayer I twisted as hard as I could, and POP. It worked. And then she says,"Mommy, God will always help you, you just have to ask. Umm... now don't you think you need to say a thank you prayer?:

And that is exactly what I did!

OK... really? Why does this happen at EVERY meal? Is this really necessary?

Carter's 18 month check up

Carter had his 18 month check up today, and everything went good. He weighs 26 pounds (50%)and is 34 inches (88%) tall. Dr. Austin said everything looks perfect. One shot and the H1N1 vacine and we were done. Carter's so tough he cried more when we pinned him down for the shots, then the actual shots. Two pricks, a couple bandaids, and we were out of there. Unaffected by the shots, he ran out of there blowing kisses and giving high fives like the stud he is.

Happy Half Birthday to You

Carter is 18 months old today. I can't believe it, the more I say it the less I believe it. How is that possible. That means tomorrow he will be closer to two than one? Can't he just stay a snugly sweet baby forever? So to celebrate we had a very busy day. We woke up and went to Pump it Up. We met up with Hayley, Blake and Allie and everyone had such a fun time. Carter was LOVING the slides. If it wasn't so much work getting him up the slide he would have gone a million times. Can't you just see his little smile? He loved it!

After PIU Carter needed a nap big time. He took a 4 1/2 hour nap!! While CT napped, CC went with her Daddy on a movie date. She was so spoiled pink ice cream before dinner. When the got back it was off to dinner at El Chaparral. And what would a half birthday celebration be without cake?

Flashback Friday

How is it possible that it has already been a year since we left Kansas City? How is it possible that the last 12 months have gone by that quickly? Our last big celebration in Kansas was Christmas 2008. One of the last things I remember is getting the house ready, setting up the tree, taking the kids to see Santa at the Oak Park Mall, and unwrapping presents. We had so many great memories in KS, that when it dawned on me it had almost been a year since we moved, I had to post some Christmas pictures.

The kids in front of our Christmas Tree. This is also somewhat of a memorial for our Christmas Tree. This week I went to do something under the Christmas Tree and the whole thing collapsed. The leg of the stand broke, and long story short it went out on trash day. I guess next year we will have to get a real one.

Dentist

On Monday we took the kids to the dentist. This was Carter's first visit and CC's second. And let me tell you, CC's first visit was not a good. one. She barely sat long enough for the dentist to look in her mouth. And then there was a huge meltdown! The picture bellow was before the dentist even arrived. There was no cleaning, no x-rays, no flouride... just a lot of this.......

This time both kids had their teeth cleaned. They were both screaming, and had to be pinned down, but no cavities!! Thank goodnees. Good thing we have another six months before the next trip,

Mr. Dimples

OK for the last few months I have been trying to figure out where Carter's dimples came from. They are the cutest most, distinct dimples I have ever seen. And then today while the kids were eating I was messing around with my computer and... ah ha!!

OK not the best picture, but it was raining, and late, and I hate my glasses, and blah blah. But anyways, how does someone go 27 year without knowing they have dimples? And how does my husband who I specifically asked where Carter's dimples came from not know? Could be the baby weight that has pretty much won the weight battle for the last 5 years. You may have won the battle, but I'm going to win the war. My dimples are back! And even though they are not nearly as adorable as Carter's, I am still excited to see them. Woohoo

New Chapter in our lives

I am so excited to be starting this chapter of our lives. CC has always been an excited reader. Even at age 1, she would sit for hours reading books. From the very beginning she has always loved the Biscuit Storybook Collection.

Biscuit and the Baby is by far her favorite, and we both have the whole thing memorized. But now that CC is a big girl, she can read them to me. I was so excited that she is now sounding out word and putting them together to make a sentence, that we jumped on the chance to go to Barnes and Nobles and get some new books. Mark was off today, and we promised CC that if she got a green at school we'd go to the bookstore. We came home with three I Can Read Series Books, Snow White, Cinderella and Olivia.

CC had so much fun looking through all the books. She looked through all the books looking for a number one specifying her reading group. We made a deal that every 5 greens CC gets at school, we'll go back to the bookstore and pick out another I Can Read Book. We can't wait! Let's hope we go frequently.

We also realized that CC has NO ballerina books!! How is that? Our little ballerina princess has no books about ballet!! So while we were at the bookstore we stumbled upon the Ballet Kitty books.

Which is perfect!! CC loves kitties. We read it tonight before bed, and CC loved it. So anyone who is looking for an alternative to Angelina Ballerina....

Thinking snow

OK so last night I was watching the weather and the new caster said that snow is in our forecast. Saturday is suppose to be in the teens, and they are thinking snow. Now I've heard this before and we got nothing!! So I'm hoping if I think snow it will come....
